In the best weather the traditional sidebiking was done in Les Karellis in the Savoie. Christian had again made a great effort to offer the participants a successful meeting. His tour suggestions, as a roadbook, to drive or simply join a group were again.
The passports were opened just 2 days ago, offering a spectacular backdrop.
We have chosen to visit Alpe d'Huez. So much green on the Col de la Croix de Fer we have never seen the past two years. So we enjoyed the panorama. Over the narrow panoramic terrace, impossible to cross, we reached Alpe d'Huez. The ski station was completely overrun with cyclists, who organized a race on this dreaded mountain course. Escape to the Col du Sarenne. The bumpy road led us into a magnificent mountain world. Picnic on the pass in a blossoming alpine flora was a highlight. Hardly imaginable that last year the "tour" went through here. Down into the Hitzestau and over the Col de Lautaret we slalom driving around the cyclists (another cycling event) reached the apex of the Col du Galibier. Through the high valley and the Col du Télegraph we reached the bottom again. A short sprint and the driveway to Karellis stood before us again. A memorable tour came to an end.
For the journey home we crossed the Savoie direction Lac Lemans. Over small passes and a lovely pre-Alpine range, it moved and direction Morzine. In between we had to rejoice at a cheese factory the Reblochon and a Tomme, which have the origin here. Through Switzerland on the expressway, which is currently a huge construction site, we reached the French Jura. Along the Doubs, the Vogeesen, the Rhine down to Freiburg, the Schwazwald, crossed by a constant light. Shortly after the Schluchsee we were wet for the first time through the wet road. In Rottweil we got a huge rain shower. Probably the foothills of this weatherfront. A short time later everything was dry again and so we reached our home.
